Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable food production amid resource constraints and climate variability has accelerated the adoption of intelligent technologies in agriculture. This study investigates the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing smart precision agriculture systems aimed at optimizing crop productivity and resource utilization. The proposed framework combines real-time data acquisition through IoT-enabled sensors—capturing soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and nutrient levels—with advanced AI algorithms for data analysis and decision-making. Machine learning models, including supervised and reinforcement learning techniques, are employed to analyze large-scale sensor data, detect patterns, and generate actionable insights for irrigation scheduling, pest detection, and yield prediction. Cloud-based platforms are utilized for data storage, processing, and remote accessibility, ensuring scalability and efficient system performance. Experimental evaluations demonstrate that the integrated IoT-AI approach significantly enhances accuracy in monitoring field conditions and improves decision support compared to traditional farming practices. Results indicate reduced water consumption, optimized fertilizer usage, and increased crop yield through timely and precise interventions. Furthermore, the system exhibits adaptability across diverse agricultural environments, making it suitable for large-scale deployment. The study concludes that the convergence of IoT and AI technologies offers a transformative solution for precision agriculture, enabling data-driven farming practices that enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience against environmental uncertainties.
